About Our Driving Lessons

Whether you are just fresh off your 18th birthday, want to refresh your knowledge when it comes to driving, or in any other situation, Cortis Motoring School is the ideal choice for you.

You can choose to learn on either manual or automatic cars, depending on your preference, and you can also choose your own instructor depending on what you are most comfortable with.

We do not only teach you the basics of driving but we will also teach you all the rules and regulations regarding the road and your car. We will teach you about road safety and we will help you build confidence on the road, which is the most important thing in order to nurture your skill.

 

From the very first lessons, we teach you what to do before even starting the car and you will be able to drive and experience the road immediately. We will not waste your time and will provide you with a three-month course that will be all you need in order to ace your test.


We teach you car handling, switching gears, we teach you how to park in any situation and how to move safely from one lane to the other, three-point turns, reversing, and more. We teach you to stay calm in traffic and we also see to it that you know how to stop safely during an emergency.

After all this, we will ensure that you gain confidence and that you are truly relaxed yet alert behind the wheel, which is the key to becoming an excellent driver and acing your test on the first try. 


We have been in the business since 1970 and we boast of an excellent pass rate. If you are interested in learning how to drive a 125cc motorbike, you can take advantage of the government scheme that we adhere to.

When You Apply for the Theory Test...

You must be 18 years or older, you will have to already have achieved your learner’s permit and you will also be asked to present your ID Card before sitting for the test. In order to book an appointment for the theory test, candidates need to call the Theory Test Centre on:

You can also choose to visit the Theory Test Centre located in Gwardamangia Hill, Gwardamangia, where an appointment will be issued immediately.

The fee that one must pay in order to do the test is that of €30.25. The subjects that the test will cover are defined in the fourth schedule of the regulations.
The test, which takes 45 minutes to take, consists of 35 multiple choice questions and you need to get 30 correct answers from these questions in order for you to pass the test.

When taking the theory test you do not have to worry whether you speak the Maltese language or not. Regardless of which test you are taking, be it a motorcycle or car test, you will be able to do so in both English and Maltese.
